I feel like this is a version of Cole that was inevitable to happen. A Cole that wants to tell it how it is, and put people in their places.

I HATE WHEN PEOPLE SAY COLE IS BORING! He’s not boring, he’s just not erratic as your other rappers, which lots of people translate to boring.

Lots of people think Motiv8 is dope….I guess it has to grow on me.

yo this album easily deserves a 9/10 or 9.5/10
it show cole in another prespective. ive gotten so tired of hearing people say cole’s boring. This album is fire, even motiv8 is kinda dope

I LOVE YOUR PASSION ON THIS TOPIC! It’s why I love writing reviews from my perspective.

1. Trust me, I never said Lil Xan has anything to offer to hip hop at any point of this review. I am actually not a fan of his music. I am all the way fine with Cole calling people like him out, just as long as the music he does it in doesn’t suffer. (I love how he called out (Rumored) Kanye and Wale in False Prophets, while still making a dope track)

2. I do partially agree, rap music isn’t the best right now, but those who aren’t quite pushing the envelope have their own lane and I think it’s OK if we don’t understand why. If you are fan of theirs and you f**k with it. Lets not be so overly critical of them; lets pray for them instead!

3. Never have I said I prefer Migos or Lil Xan over Cole. I agree, I’m guilty in this review of sounding a bit sarcastic, but I’m with you, I love music that is lyrical and actually meaningful. However, being a fan of Cole since day 1, I just preferred him when he was on his come-up, rapping a little more loose than he does now. Lets be real, I don’t always want a f**king life lesson to be shoved down my throat every single time I hear my favorite artists.

4.Actually, Cole DID drop a few GOMD’s on this album.. KOD had that feel, ATM had that feel….Yes, his lyrical content is more political on the latter, but that’s the only aspect that is different from GOMD on those songs.

5. I like passion, and see where you are coming from with your opinion, but you have to be careful when it comes to how you view music. Before the messages, before the politics, the musicality has to be good. Like you, I love that he tackled the urban issues throughout, but at the same time, a good duration of the album played like interludes, to me. One guy that I think did it right was Joey Bada$$: He was political as s**t in his last album, but at the same time the music was so f**kin’ dope!

I couldn’t disagree more. I don’t think Lil’ Xanax has ANYTHING to offer to hip hop, and it’s about time that those in hip hop with nothing to offer get called out. Other than Kendrick and a select few in the mainstream, everything is a giant load of shit, making people more stupid and with no content to talk about, nothing to learn, no culture lens to analyse. Can’t we push the envelope past that? This is exactly what Cole is doing, and if you can’t take the fact that these fake ass rappers are shit, it’s on you. You can keep your Migos, your Lil’ Xan; I’ll take this Cole album over all that shit. Whatever happened to lyrical content? Whatever happened to telling a story? All people care about is some shit that bangs. But when artists go out of their way to provide content, we get reviews like this; “Why don’t Cole just rap, why does he have to be sarcastic, taking shots at the wack rappers?”. For people thinking that Cole was going to drop another GOMD, have you been listening to anything that he’s been putting out since then? This isn’t about being “woke”, it’s about providing content, and a unique perspective. If people are too dumb to get anything out of it, thats just too fucking bad.
