Playboi Carti’s MUSIC Returns to No. 1 on Billboard Charts for Third Week

Does Playboi Carti have the album of the year?

In a music industry where projects often fade fast, certain albums manage to defy the odds and stand the test of time. Kendrick Lamar’s GNX made waves last year with impressive consistency, and now, Playboi Carti’s MUSIC is making a similar impact.

This week, it was officially announced that MUSIC is projected to return to the top of the Billboard 200 chart for a third (non-consecutive) week, earning an estimated 62,000 units. This comeback follows a brief displacement by Ariana Grande’s deluxe edition of eternal sunshine, which momentarily claimed the No. 1 spot.

The sustained success of MUSIC isn’t exactly surprising. With over 30 tracks—some of which were added in a deluxe edition—the album provides an immersive and ever-evolving listening experience. Fans are still discovering new gems, a testament to the depth and replay value of the project. Personally, I’m still uncovering fresh favorites with each playthrough.

Whether or not MUSIC ends up taking the crown as hip-hop album of the year remains to be seen, but right now, it’s leading the pack with undeniable momentum. Playboi Carti has crafted a body of work that’s not just trendy—it’s sticky, sprawling, and built to last.
