Drake’s “NOKIA” Climbs the Charts as It Becomes a Certified Club Anthem

Drake has a smash hit on his hands.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Don’t count out Drake. After the dust settled from his high-profile clash with Kendrick Lamar—and the internet tried to write his obituary—the 6 God is doing exactly what he’s always done: make hits. Exhibit A? The massive success of “NOKIA.”

According to Talk of the Charts, “NOKIA” is projected to rise to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the April 19 chart, marking its highest peak to date. This week, the track holds steady at No. 3, further proving that Drizzy hasn’t lost a step, even with all the noise surrounding him lately.

On a personal note: I was out the other night at a packed club in D.C., and nothing got the crowd more hyped than “NOKIA.” As soon as that beat dropped, people were screaming, dancing, and vibing out like it was the summer anthem of the decade. It’s clearly the biggest club record right now, hands down.

Of course, some DJs are being messy—teasing “NOKIA” only to spin “Not Like Us” right after. A little shady? Sure. But if anything, it just adds to the drama that’s keeping both tracks relevant in the culture.

At the end of the day, love him or hate him, Drake’s ability to bounce back is elite. “NOKIA” is more than just a viral hit—it’s a statement that he’s still very much in the conversation.
